Surgical Procedures:

  • Extractions ~ Removal of loose, decayed, infected or malpositioned teeth.
  • Wisdom Teeth Extractions ~ Removal of impacted third molars (teeth partially or fully underneath the gum line), or erupted third molars for purposes of maintaining the proper alignment of teeth, to treat decay, infection or the potential of infection, and associated pathology.
  • Oral Pathology ~ Conservative or surgical management of oral/jaw lesions, diseases of the mouth, and salivary glands.
  • Oral Infection ~ Incision and drainage or medical management of swollen tissues.
  • Apicoectomy ~ Root tip surgery to treat symptomatic teeth that either have failed root canal therapy or are unable to first be treated by root canal therapy. Bone grafting may be utilized to facilitate healing.
  • Surgical Exposure ~ Surgical uncovering of a malpositioned impacted tooth and possible placing of an orthodontic bracket with or without a ligature wire to facilitate eruption.
  • Frenectomy Labial or Lingual ~ The surgical release of muscle tissue to improve periodontal health and/or to assist in orthodontic treatment.
  • Trauma ~ Conservative and surgical management of oral/facial injuries, including bone fractures, tooth trauma and soft tissue injuries.
  • Bone Grafting ~ Autogenous bone (taken form the patient), Alloplastic bone (sterile cadaver bone), Bovine bone (cow bone), or Synthetic bone may be used for the purposes of adding bulk to the jaw bone to facilitate dental implant surgery, to help stabilize dentures, to replace bone loss due to infection or disease. Bone grafts also may be used to provide better esthetics for crown and bridge patients, and for purposes of ridge preservation following extractions.

Anesthesia

We offer several methods of anesthesia to help the nervous patient. These include:

  • Local Anesthesia
  • Inhalation Sedation ( nitrous oxide/ laughing gas)
  • Intravenous Sedation (twilight sleep)
  • Oral Sedation
  • or a combination of the above.
